De Gentse band Rosie Stuart schrijft rauwe nummers vol contrasten: 100 procent zwart-wit, zonder ruimte voor grijs. Centraal in de band staat frontvrouw en songwriter Rosie, wiens rusteloze creativiteit het project voortstuwt.

Soms roept haar stem de onverschrokken je m’en foutisme van haar moeder op – een eigenschap die ze meedroeg als lid van de Kortrijkse cultband Midnight Men. Anderen horen nuances van Sinéad O’Connor, PJ Harvey of Patti Smith in Rosie’s opvallende zang.

Samen met haar band confronteert Rosie Stuart niet alleen het publiek. Ze nemen het op tegen de muren om hen heen, de wereld in het algemeen en zelfs zichzelf.

Op 16 januari 2026 bracht Rosie Stuart hun 7″, Cupid / Vegan, uit op het Belgische label LABELMAN. De band werd ook geselecteerd als een van de drie winnaars van De Nieuwe Lichting ’26, de invloedrijke Belgische muziekwedstrijd georganiseerd door Studio Brussel.

Rosie’s mind is always racing over the smallest details, yet when it comes to music, everything seems to flow with ease.

The Ghent-based band Rosie Stuart writes raw songs in stark contrasts: 100 percent black and white, with no room for gray. At the heart of the band stands frontwoman and songwriter Rosie, whose restless creativity drives the project.

At times, her voice evokes her mother’s fearless je m’en foutisme — a trait she carried as a member of the Kortrijk cult band Midnight Men. Others hear shades of Sinéad O’Connor, PJ Harvey, or Patti Smith in Rosie’s striking delivery.

Together with her band, Rosie Stuart doesn’t just confront the crowd. They take on the walls around them, the world at large, and even themselves.

On January 16th, 2026, Rosie Stuart released their 7”, Cupid / Vegan, on the Belgian label LABELMAN.
The band was also selected as one of the three winners of De Nieuwe Lichting ’26, the influential Belgian music competition organized by Studio Brussel.
