da Googie is the solo project of Deb Googe, bass player with My Bloody Valentine and Thurston Moore Group. Over the years she has also played bass with Primal Scream and Brix Smith and she formed Snowpony with Katharine Gifford (Stereolab).

Taking a bass IV, a looper and a pile of FX pedals, da Googie blends traditional basslines with more abstract noises and field recordings to make intricate, layered soundscapes and songs

In November 2023, da Googie released her first record on her own label, a spilt 12” with her friends Too Many Things. These songs were performed, recorded and mixed by da Googie.

The 12” sold out quickly and was followed by a number of Bandcamp only releases.

In March 2025 she released The Golden Thread (Tiny Global Productions), a collaboration with her long time friend Cara Tivey (Billy Bragg, Everything But The Girl, Blur, Lilac Time and Au Pairs), in which she played a number of instruments and also recorded and produced the record.
